Welcome to the Orange Volunteer Fire Department’s official website, where we invite you to join us in commemorating a century of resilience and community spirit!

On a cold December night in 1925, a grand residence in Orange was engulfed in flames, prompting 14 brave individuals to take action with only buckets at their disposal. Their courage ignited the establishment of the Orange Volunteer Fire Department the following day.

As we eagerly anticipate our 100th anniversary in 2025, we are preparing for an exceptional celebration! We extend a warm invitation to residents and businesses alike to join us in honoring this significant milestone. Anticipate an exhilarating gathering as Fire Departments from across Connecticut convene in our town for their annual convention and to partake in the festivities.

Stay tuned to this space for updates on our plans and learn how you can support OVFD’s century-long legacy of community service. Let’s come together to commemorate 100 years of dedication and solidarity. Join us as we honor our past and celebrate our future!
