Biography
Chief Vaughan Dumas Joined the Orange Volunteer Fire Association in April of 2002. During his tenure he served in the capacity of Training Officer, Lieutenant, Assistant Chief, Deputy Chief and became Chief of the department in March of 2018.
Chief Dumas served on the apparatus purchase committee developing the specifications and purchasing of three of the department’s current apparatus, Engine 34, Rescue 1, and Quint 32. He chaired the annual carnival in 2009 and served on numerous committees.
Chief Dumas has a bachelor’s degree in Public Safety Administration, is certified by the State of Connecticut as an EMT, Firefighter II, Fire Safety Officer, Fire Service Officer I, and Fire Service Instructor I. Chief Dumas is the Vice President of The Valley Fire Chief’s Regional Training School and held the office of President of the Connecticut State Firefighters Association 2016-2018.
Chief Dumas Retired in June of 2018 as Captain of the Milford Police Department Patrol Division after serving 29 years of service and is currently employed as the Executive Director of Southwest Regional Communications (Southwest CMED).
