Dave Tufano

Captain Dave Tufano joined the Orange Volunteer Fire Department in July, 2005, and was named Firefighter of the Year in 2009. During his tenure, he has served as an interior firefighter, apparatus driver, apparatus trainer, and Chairman of the Driver’s Trainer Committee, as well as Assistant Engineer of Apparatus, new truck committee, and lieutenant until elected to captain in 2020. Captain Tufano served in the parking committee and in other capacities for the Orange Fireman’s Carnival. Captain Tufano is certified by the State of Connecticut in Firefighter I, Firefighter II, Fire Officer I, Fire Service Instructor, and holds additional training in Hazmat Operations. Captain Tufano is also a State of Connecticut Station Evaluator, and has held a CDL since 1989. Captain Tufano is an instructor for CT Valley Fire School, and has worked for the State of Connecticut for 30 years for Fleet Operations in different capacities.
